Changing The Space.

Change A Space:
By using the material I'm using in my project I decided to try change a space while keeping it transparent. Today I took cling film and used it to take up a space. I used my hall. I then waled threw it, showing that it takes up space but is still transparent.

Work Update

Okay I know I haven't had things up in a while, just had Internet and laptop problems, but I'm back on line. So over the past two weeks I've moved on from stretching materials as such. I'm now working on dividing wool and of all different types and dipping them in wax. This worked really well with a wool i found at home. After it came out of the  wax i shook it and the little stands of thread on the wool stood out and hardened.

check out some things I've been up to :D

This is one type of wool i really like... half temped to go buy a whole reel of it!!

i recycled the printed sheets i had and i placed them over my bed room door.i then placed up a sheet of organza material and got this fiery effect when i photo graphed it in the dark.

plastic bags i stretched that now  look like black seaweed??

Stretching

After my review i took my tutors advice and bought some different materials, which are every day items, making it more personal. I got black plastic bags, cling film and a pair of torn tights. I stretched and painted onto them.

Wool

I decided to try cover something i use daily in wool. I did this because its a space i use and can easily walk through but by taping it up I make it a space I have crawl under and work around. as you can still see through it it makes a transparent aspect to it. My sister pointed out that if you lay on the stairs and look you it looks like it goes on for a few meters, yet when you sit up you realise it is only about a meter in height.

Frosted Webs?

As frost and snow develops on webs it can have an icily layering dropping/drooping effect. My aim for the next week is to see what materials i can achieve this effect on in what mediums. At the moment it have only experimented on a chip oven pan in foam, honey, water, shampoo, cornflour, paint, glue, coffee and many others. I think i achieved quite a bit.

Failure?

I got the glass from a photo frame and decided to draw on it with pastels. I coped out a print i did during the week with material and paint. The pastel didn't stick properly so i thought about heating them, as they were oil thinking they would melt.

i heated them just a bit to much and the glass broke.  I actually prefer this to the original piece. WIN

.

I really like this image. It gives me a lot of ideas around my idea of smoke. Its mystical and haunting at the same time.
