George Rousse

George Rousse did a fantastic project in Durham for an art residency. The public made it possible with there volunteer work and contributions. 11coulorful mind blowing and eye blending pieces and constructed in historical buildings. his final images show what the piece would be like from a certain angle in the room. they show an illusion of colour blending in the rooms. The use of space and colour was a real interesting part of the images and made them more interesting to keep reading.

Richard Wentworth

London based artist Robert Wentworth  was a major focus in my traces project. The British Sculpture artist studied the notion of objects from day to day experiences. He transforms and manipulates everyday objects that e finds through the medium of photography. In this project 'Making do and Getting By' is based on his finding of these objects. I really find this project interesting as you do see the objects in a whole new light. He uses his photography skills as a new way of seeing which I find extremely interesting as it something I'm extremely interested in within the media of photography.

 In these two examples of images from this project iv mentioned, are the examples I'v shown here on the right. I find these quite humorous but extremely interesting at the same time. I love they are clearly found objects. The first image is one of my favorites from the entire exhibition as it high lights the council in a new light. how the spend money for something that's already there. this is an example of how he makes things seen differently threw the camera lens.

The second im age is a DIY something we don't know but can let or minds run on many possible ideas from kids using it with skate boards or bikes to Adults using it with maybe cars or a wheel barrow.

Over all Richard Wentwork is a artist im going to make myself very familiar with and im going to follow his work.

Gerard Byrne

Gerard Byrne is a visual artist that we were told to learn about. He works in the mediums of photography, film and video.
His work is influenced by literature and theatre that represent the history of cultural forms through society. His Photography is usually based over the past few years threw historical site projects, and his film making is where he reconstructs historical conversations from popular magazines from 1960's - 80's.

Sharon Lockhart

Sharon Lockhart is a Massachusetts born film and instalation artist.

Lockhart's video Podworka is based in Poland focusing on the kids that live in the court yards of Lodz.
These children live in the apartment blocks near the old abandoned house, but these houses are the only playground for the children. The positive thing about this is it keeps the children so where safe, away from traffic and all the city's business. Its fascination to look at this 'playground' and compare it to that of an American playground, and watch how these children use the storage units and metal armatures become Jungle Gyms, sandboxes and soccer fields in the children's eyes.

I really enjoyed looking at the video as something seems to be happening at all times in it. The children seem to follow each other in and out of the frame. Its interesting how the frame doesn't change and how the real subjects - the children- enter and exit it.

Baby Kittens

Lovely little kittens that my friends cat had. had to share them with the world. Their just the most adorable things ever!

Assessments

So my Final Assessments and presentation are tomorrow and I'm slowly getting more and more nervous.. so iv decided to look back on some old work that iv done a few years back. I think by doing this I'm looking at things related to what I'm doing right now so I'm kind of taking my mind off it.

I used to spend hours taking photographs of my brother skating but its eased off now because he lives in cork and rarely comes home. I dedicated a whole page to him in my portfolio for being so supportive and never minding me pointing a camera at him. what I love about photography and the coarse I'm doing is that I can now see in this image that is grainy, but because it is such a personal image I can get over that.

This is my friends cat Oscar. He rarely would sit around long enough with humans unless he was hungry but this day he was trying to get into the house. What I like about this image is that I'm so used to taking photographs of my own cat that's black and white, Oscar has a lovely coat on him in this image. you can clearly see his whiskers.

This is a photograph that I took at a friends 18 two years ago. its  one of the first photo shopped image I did yet the photo shopping is only the difference in contrast and brightness. I have a tendency to understand composition and depth of field some bit since iv ever held a camera. I think that's my favourite thing about this image is the composition. Its not slap bang in the middle of the screen but its perfecting situated for your eyes to see.

 

 

Lastly this is my sister. I absolutely love taking photographs off her because of her innocent face and of coarse the freckles. We decided on this day that we would try get pictures of bubbles and with out her realising I got them of her blowing the. something she refused to do in the first place. I think he not knowing I was doing this made the image more interesting because its just natural looking.

Kasia Marcinkiewicz is the owner of Warsaw based KIM creative house. She works with free-lanced work in photography reportage, family and children photography.

Here I have photos that I found interesting as they have a meaning to them rather then just people in a photo. She doesn't do much set up photography and I find the innocence and naturalism very nice in the images.

She also does some staged photographs with models for fashion perposes
